So India is feverishing courting Africa. The Second Africa-India Summit has just ended in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. One just hopes that the various African states(i.e. their reps) will have their eyes wide open and their brains in fifth gear; if they read up on history they will realize that Ethiopia was NEVER COLONIZED(that should inform their dealings with their opposite numbers from where the Ganges flows).

I mean India is taking too much from the Africa-China template: summitry, declarations, a complex continent treated as one homogeneous mass and hand-outs!!!! The Indians should show some creativity for Krishna's sake. $5billion loan over three years pledged by India for 53 grown ass African Republics: what does that mean when dissagregated? Those are the questions. We in Africa should not allow India or China or anyone else to use us for their feel good agenda and search for natural resources.
I would not ask the question: what can Africa gain from this Indian seduction? The pertinent question for me is : what can Ghana benefit? That is a more manageable, realistic query!!!! That clearly is a matter for foxy strategy and chess moves from our policy elites and that of other African nations as well. If our strategists are not coldly calculating already such summits will simply represent the formalization of India's agenda to take what it can from Africa; a nightmarish replay of our history !!!!
